The Research Centre on Identity and Migration Issues within the Faculty of Political Science and Communication, University of Oradea is organizing the International Conference “Post-Communism and the New European Identity”, that will be held on November 5th -7th , 2009 in Oradea, Romania.
By this conference, The Research Centre on Identity and Migration Issues is continuing its previous series of events in the field of identity and migration, trying to bring together the scholars and specialists involved in the research of these issues, to consolidate the partnerships established with researchers from Romania and abroad and to find future directions for cooperation and new research opportunities. Also, the conference marks the 20th anniversary of the fall of communism, inviting researchers to submit papers related to the institutional changes and democratic reforms of the post-communist tranzition.
The papers presented at the conference will be published in the conference volume. Several selected papers could be published in the Journal of Identity and Migration Studies (see www.jims.e-migration.ro).

Conference fee
There
is no conference fee. The organizers will provide conference materials and the
publication of the selected papers. Travel, accommodation and meals costs are
to be paid by the participants. The organizers will assist you with information
concerning different types of accommodation.
