Research Centre on Identity and Migration Issues (RCIMI)
 
 
The Research Centre on Identity and Migration Issues - RCIMI was created in 2005, being affiliated to the Faculty of Political and Communication Sciences of the University of Oradea. The members of the Centre are Faculty professors and master students enrolled in the MA program: “The freedom of persons in Europe”, the only program of such a kind offered to students in Romania.
 
The Research Centre has developed different projects in the field of migration, in cooperation with other organizations, such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM) - Romania, the Office for Labour Force Migration (OLFM), and the Border Police. At the moment, the Center is working together with the IOM Romania and OLFM to elaborate a Guide for Migrants, providing information on the rights of migrants, the risks of illegal migration, the network of abroad employment agencies, insurance policies, banking policies, communication means etc.
 
 
The Research Council is the decision making body of the Research Centre, and it is headed by a director, coordinators of the research teams and the scientific secretary of the centre. The Research Council is subordinated to the Senate of the University of Oradea.
 
The main prerogatives of the Research Council are:
 
- the approval of research fields and themes;
- the approval of the statutes of the research teams;
- the approval of founding new research teams;
- the appointment of the research teams coordinators;
- the validation of the job tryout for an employment position within the centre and the
research teams;
- supervision of the research results and their dissemination
- monitoring the and approving the budget of the research centre;
- initiating and signing contracts of cooperation with other research centers and
other universities;
- auditing of the research activity of the centre.
