The Master Program is offered by the Faculty of Political Science and Communication Science - University of Oradea (Romania) and implemented in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) – Romania and the Office for Labor Migration, the Department for Labor Abroad – Romanian Ministry of Labor, Social Solidarity and Family. The Master of Arts in Free Movement of Persons in Europe is the first graduate program of such a kind offered to students in Romania.
Successful participants are awarded by the University of Oradea the academic degree of "Master of Arts” in the specialization: Free Movement of Persons in Europe. The program is unfolded during 3 semesters: October 2007 – February 2009.

Aim and goals
|
The aim of this program is to disseminate new values and attitudes towards migration processes as well as to combine up-to-date theoretical approaches of migration with interdisciplinary training tools and research methods necessary for studying and researching this topic. The program also aims to form policy making skills and competences in order to promote migration policies which enhance human rights and tolerance both within the host and sending communities.
Core topics
The CORE TOPICS of the program focus on the legal, political, economical and cultural perspectives of the migration processes.
Among the courses included in the curricula of the MA program we mention:
- Free movement of persons – fundamental value in the European construction;
- European policy concerning free movement of persons;
- Migration – Standards and methods for public institutions;
- Asylum - Standards and methods for public institutions;
- Institutions and methods against human trafficking;
- European neighborhood policy;
- European policies concerning labor mobility;
- European policies regarding visa and border control;
- Culture of migrations vs. the wave of economical migration and cultural clashes;
- Minorities and the right to preserve cultural identity.
